Inside Chanel #4 : the jacket

Ed eccoci giunti al quarto capitolo del progetto di Chanel, che per la prima volta racconta la propria storia attraverso dei filmati d'archivio che ci trasportano dentro al mito: succede così che un'anziana, ma sempre favolosa ed elegante, Cocò Chanel ci narri di come la nascita della sua famosa giacca fosse la risposta al bisogno di rendere la donna "libera, senza farle indossare una maschera e senza mai farle cambiare il suo modo di essere in funzione di quello che indossa"... Una frase che ogni donna dovrebbe conoscere e portare impressa nella mente!
Fu dunque così che la stilista francese "rubò" le giacche ai guardaroba maschili e il tweed alla Scozia, cucendo poi sull'orlo la sua famosa catenella per permettere che la stoffa cadesse perfettamente. Et voilà. La "black little jacket" è da ormai 60 anni un capo iconico per le donne di tutto il mondo insieme ai jeans ed alla camicia bianca: pezzi immancabili per un guardaroba e che mai passeranno di moda. Here we are with the fourth chapther of Chanel's project: for the first time the french fashion house tells its story with a journey back in time through its archives. In this new short-film revealing the story behind the iconic jacket, created by Cocò Chanel to makes women "free, not feel they were in costume and not change their attitude or manner depending on their dress"... A very important sentence that every woman should know and remember!
And so she stole men's jackets and scotland tweed, adding her famouse bag-chain to the hem to ensure the jacket fall perfectly. Et voilà. The "black little jacket" is today, sixty years after its creation, a fashion essential that never will go out of style. Thanks Cocò.
